On Monday June 29th, I’ll be throwing a fundraising party for the CD I’m trying to make! It will be held at Otto’s Shrunken Head from 6pm-10:30pm. Otto’s is located at 538 East 14th Street between Avenue A/B in Manhattan. SAVE THE DATE! Rumor has it that there will be guest performers, a karaoke competition, drink specials, yummy food, and cupcakes galore! And, if you know Otto’s, you know you are in for at least one drink that includes an umbrella and a monkey! Stay tuned for details!

I’m scheduled to play a showcase music slot at the Indiegrrl Women in the Arts Conference on the weekend of August 20th in Nashville! I’m very honored to have been chosen for a slot as Indiegrrl is a great member organization that “works to create networking, educational, and showcasing opportunities for women”. I’ll be playing at Banjo Jim’s on Saturday April 25th @ 7pm sharp as part of a Honky Tonk Angels show. HTA is a monthly musical series hosted by Jamie Lyn of The Red Tail Hawks Band, taking place at various venues throughout NYC. Each evening of performances is comprised of female led groups and solo artists. Banjo Jim’s is located at the corner of 700 East 9th St and Avenue C in Manhattan. I’ll be joined on violin by Tom Swafford, a great player/composer/arranger and leader of String Power, a 12 piece string ensemble based in Brooklyn. I will be leading a 6-week workshop on songwriting for students aged 13-18, beginning April 25th. It will be held in the Ditmas Park section of Brooklyn, at Cortelyou and Dorchester on Saturday mornings, from 10:30-12 Noon. Located within a couple blocks of Q Train stop at Cortelyou Road. The cost for the 6-week session is $150. No songwriting or performing experience is necessary, but a basic ability to play any instrument and a willingness to sing vocal ideas is required. Beginners absolutely welcome. Interest in any genre of music welcome. Both Boys and Girls encouraged to sign-up! Class topics will include melody development, writing lyrics, chord arranging, performance techniques, collaboration, and how to brainstorm ideas. The 6-week session will culminate in a performance at local venue, Vox Pop on Saturday June 13th. Classes skipped on 5/1 and 5/23. Pro-Rated if less than 6 classes taken.
