Recently, I attended the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival. Check out a couple of quick pix of an impromptu performance I did. My friend, the lovely and talented children’s music performer, Shira aka ShiraLaLa was quite the lovely listener that day! Don’t you just love her pink hair and fabulous outfit for the afternoon?!?!

Recently, I did an interview with the blog Seen & Herd, which is a fashion blog by designer Kelly Horrigan Handmade. Kelly designs jewelry pieces for musicians that play on their personality and musical style. The fabulously talented drummer and producer, Lee Free, does the interviews! Tinderbox Music Festival

I’ve recently joined forces with musicians Alyson Greenfield and Jennifer Newman and entertainment business affairs maven, Alicia Matusheski in putting together the Tinderbox Music Festival – an all female music festival in Brooklyn at the end of the summer – and we are looking to raise money to help pay the artists, venue and advertising and promotion costs. Tinderbox will feature established and emerging female artists, and the lineup will include some awesome rap, rock, and pop performers. Want to help us make it happen? Thanks to all who came out to the show at Public Assembly! Jennifer Alice Flynn, one of my dearest and most supportive fans was there with video camera in hand to capture it all! Check out this video, which shows clips from four songs I performed. You’ll hear my cover of the traditional song Wayfaring Stranger and 3 of my originals songs including Oh Lord, Elizabeth Dawn and Please Come to Brooklyn! I was joined on stage by Tom Swafford on violin and Dinshaw on 2nd guitar. What a great night! Thanks to Public Assembly and Akil Wilson, of the band The Workshop Model, for inviting me to play.

May 20th at Public Assembly in Williamsburg

On Thursday May 20th at 10pm, I’ll be playing at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I’m looking forward to this show, as I’ll be joined by violinist Tom Swafford and guitarist Dinshaw Gobhai. Other bands on the bill that night include La Defense, The Workshop Model, Figures of Speech, and The Juvenals. The first band takes the stage at 8pm and then at 12Midnight, DJ Mullvad takes over! Public Assembly is located at 70 North Sixth Street. Take the L train to Bedford Avenue and walk towards the water on 6th Street. The show will be in the Back Room at Public Assembly. I look forward to seeing you there.

The Audience Sings Along on “Please Come to Brooklyn”

Recently, I played as the musical guest for a Great Small Works event. The audience that night was one of the best! They listened quietly to each song and even sang along as you can see in this video clip during my song “PLEASE COME TO BROOKLYN”. I’ve included some pictures from the evening as well. The pictures were taken by singer and songwriter Jan Bell, one of my absolute favorite musicians here in New York. I am joined on guitar by Dinshaw Gobhai.

Jan captured some of my stage performance as well as some interesting reflections that were showing up in one of the windows in the loft space.

March 26th Show with Great Small Works

More Exciting News! I’m going to play at the next Great Small Works Event, Friday March 26th! GSW is a collective of theater artists, based in New York City, who perform really cool shows incorporating all sorts of theatrical elements such as puppets, toy theater, circus and sideshow to address contemporary social issues. I Love it! I can’t think of anything greater than when people use art in a creative way to talk about what’s going on in the world! The group produces the Spaghetti Dinner Series,which is a variety evening of music, performances, and you guessed it…….Spaghetti! $12 Ticket gets you a yummy dinner, cool performances and live music! It’s a true honor for me to be asked to play at this event! I hope you will join me! Tickets can be purchased at the door! Dinner will start at 7:30pm. The whole GSW show will start at 8pm and I will play at various points throughout the evening. I will be joined by guitarist, Dinshaw Gobhai. The event will be at One Arm Red in the Dumbo section of Brooklyn and is located at 10 Jay Street #903. Take the F train to the York Street stop. See you there!
