I will be leading a 6-week workshop on songwriting for students aged 13-18, beginning April 25th. It will be held in the Ditmas Park section of Brooklyn, at Cortelyou and Dorchester on Saturday mornings, from 10:30-12 Noon. Located within a couple blocks of Q Train stop at Cortelyou Road. The cost for the 6-week session is $150. No songwriting or performing experience is necessary, but a basic ability to play any instrument and a willingness to sing vocal ideas is required. Beginners absolutely welcome. Interest in any genre of music welcome. Both Boys and Girls encouraged to sign-up! Class topics will include melody development, writing lyrics, chord arranging, performance techniques, collaboration, and how to brainstorm ideas. The 6-week session will culminate in a performance at local venue, Vox Pop on Saturday June 13th. Classes skipped on 5/1 and 5/23. Pro-Rated if less than 6 classes taken.
